Endometriosis is the growth outside of uterus of tissue similar to the lining of the uterus. It can also grow into the muscle of the uterus or the outside surface of the uterus (adenomyosis). Endometriosis and Adenomyosis can cause abnormal menstrual bleeding, chronic pain, and pain with intercourse. It can also lead to infertility which can be treated.
